What it does
You upload a chapter’s pages and each page goes through its steps: the script with numbered dialogue, the cleaning (redraws included) and the typesetting in each language. At the end it puts the typesetting over the clean page, shows you the final view and exports the chapter as a ZIP. The whole team works at the same time and sees where each page stands.
Why it exists
Today a chapter goes through five programs: raws on Drive, the script in a document, Photoshop to clean and typeset, and Discord to say who’s on what. Files get lost, nobody knows what’s missing and every change is a new folder. Capistudio puts a group’s whole workflow in one place online.
What it replaces
Shared Drive folders, the script in Docs, PSDs going back and forth and Discord threads to coordinate.
Who it’s for
Scanlation and translation teams for manga, manhwa and comics, especially the ones spread across countries or without Photoshop licenses.

Technical info
- Svelte 5 + TypeScript interface, served at capichan.com/studio.
- Fastify API with Kysely and PostgreSQL. Files live in Cloudflare R2.
- Capishot runs inside the studio as WebAssembly, through a versioned bridge: the studio never modifies Capishot.
- Typeset PSDs are exported with psd-compiler, so the text looks the same as in Photoshop.
- Autosave, live editing through server events and soft locks per page.
- You log in with your Capybara Translator account (SSO), no new account needed.

Capishot updated with TypeR-style text placement. A notice when the canvas runs on CPU, with "Retry GPU", and fit to width for long strips.

One editor for every step, a phone version that installs as an app, typesetting with warp and effects, and AI graphics that blend into the page.
